Sluamor on New Frontiers Programme at Waterford Institute of Technology

Tanya at the ISME Conference in 2017

After submitting an application, we are delighted to have received news that Tanya, our Chief Software Architect, has been offered a place on Phase 1 of the New Frontiers Programme at Waterford Institute of Technology. Unfortunately, only one person is accepted per company.

The New Frontiers Entrepreneur Development Programme

The New Frontiers Entrepreneur Development Programme is funded by Enterprise Ireland. It is delivered by Institutes of Technology and Universities across Ireland who provide practical and interactive workshops, personalised one-to-one mentoring, financial support and co-working spaces to companies with strong employment and growth potential. The aim is to provide a supportive environment to help companies with innovative business ideas, to develop their businesses into successful start-ups, so that they can create employment, generate revenue, and export sales from Ireland.

Phase 1 of the New Frontiers Programme is a six weeks programme geared towards helping start-ups to evaluate the true market potential of their business ideas so that they can evolve into viable business propositions.

The Sluamor Objectives

It is our aim that the support of the New Frontiers Programme will help us at Sluamor to identify any potential issues or gaps in our business model so that we can improve our service offering to enhance the value we offer to our customers.

In addition, we hope that the New Frontiers programme will help to enhance our credibility as we start to move onto the next stage of our development process, that is, to expand the Sluamor network to realise our vision of a sluá mor (i.e., big crowd in English). We want to we increase the chances of facilitating new business connections for our subscribers through via Sluamor.

As a result, even though Tanya is the only one of us who's on the programme for now, we are all learning from the process and incorporating those insights into our development plans as we continue on our journey to bring businesses together.

Together, we're more than the sum of all our parts. We truly believe that innovation is in Connecting the Unconnected.
